What we collect
When you use HuntID, we collect the following information:
- Email address — We store this when you sign up via Google Auth. It's how we identify your account.
- Sign-up date — The timestamp when you created your HuntID account.
- Search statistics — When you search for a tracklist, we log: the search query (artist/mix name), the timestamp, and whether the search returned results.
We do not collect: which SoundCloud mixes or tracks you browse, your SoundCloud account data or credentials, your browser history or activity outside HuntID, audio data, cookies, or session tokens from SoundCloud, or location, device ID, or personal identifiers beyond your email.
We're not tracking your listening habits. We only know what you searched for, not what you listened to.
How we use your data
We use the data we collect for one reason: to make HuntID better.
- Improving search — We analyze search patterns to understand which DJ mixes and artists users look for most, so we can improve our search algorithm and accuracy.
- Product decisions — Search stats tell us which features matter, what breaks, and where to focus next.
- Debugging — If something goes wrong, we use your search history to diagnose and fix issues.
We don't sell your data, share it with third parties for marketing, use it for advertising or profiling, or give it to SoundCloud or any other platform.
Third-party services
Google Auth — You sign up with your Google account. Google handles your password and authentication. When you authenticate, Google shares your email address with us.
Supabase — We use Supabase (a PostgreSQL database service) to store your email, sign-up date, and search statistics. Supabase handles data encryption and security. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
The HuntID extension itself runs locally on your browser. When it interacts with SoundCloud, it only sends playback commands (like "skip to 2:30"). It doesn't read or extract SoundCloud data.
Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account exists.
If you delete your HuntID account, we delete your email address, sign-up date, and search history. Deletion happens within 30 days of your request.
We may keep anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., "100 searches for 'Richie Hawtin' in May") for product analytics. This can't identify you.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — We'll send you everything we have on you (email, sign-up date, full search history).
- Correct your data — If your email is wrong, we'll fix it.
- Delete your data — Request full deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Opt out of analytics — We can disable data collection for your account if you ask.
To exercise any of these rights, email us (see Section 06). We'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU, you have rights under GDPR. If you're in California, you have rights under CCPA. Same process: email us.
